Hey guys Im a newb when it comes to cars but willing to learn:D work at a dealership so i have mechanic friends if needed. I have a 5 speed 96 rs eclipse and I've wanted a turbo car forever and would like to put one on this 420A. I just really love the blow off sound Im not looking to run this on a track just the sound really. I mean i would like to add some horse power to it but not looking for a drag car just something i can play with on the streets. I just need to know if its worth doing to the car and will it hold or what do i need to get so i will have a strong reliable turbo car.

P.S. I just got the car for $1000 so not to much in it already got a timing belt water pump and valve cover gasket on the way just to be sure. The body has 205k on it. They said the transmission was rebuilt 9k miles ago and she is deffently tight:thumb:. The motor has been replaced but unknow mileage on it just seen 99 eclipse in chalk on the motor LOL, but got some mechanics to look at it and they said its still a good motor zero smoke but minor oil leak and i think thats the valve cover I will find out:pray:. I got this car because they traded it in for a car on the used lot and lucky me i just paid what they traded it in for :)

It depends how much money you are willing to spend on it.

You could put an ok turbo setup on for $800-900, but you still can only run 8 psi at most on stock internals. You'll need a wideband and fuel pressure regulator so that you can adjust your fuel/airflow. Get a walbro 255lp fuel pump as well, if you have issues with fuel.

Next would be Megasquirt, this will help you with all your tuning and it comes with all the sensors you need.

I could go on, but your not looking for high hp. The best thing to keep in mind about reliability is that it is up to you to follow your maintenance schedule. Any car can be reliable when treated right.

ok thank you ya i could spend around a grand and be happy for sure and what if i got new internals? I also have another question idk if its just eclipses but the engine is so hott like not by the guages but just seems like it gets hotter then most engines ive dealed with. I can feel the heat of the engine 5 feet away
