I got a quick question.

I snapped one of the turbo bolts (4 bolts that hold the turbo to the manifold)

I also f'd the thread up on the other 3 bolts.

Should i just buy 4 new bolts from mitsu...or IS there bolts i could buy at a hardware store? Im really short or on money so thats why im asking! :rocks:

Don't use hardware bolts, use OEM. Hardware bolts are generally a different material and can cause galvanic coupling, which will make you SOL the next time you try to remove them.

I'm using the ARP Chromoly turbo bolts.

The thread size and pitch is 10mm x 1.25, and I believe the standard length is 80mm. It's best to find hardened bolts for this application as the standard-grade hardware store bolts can stretch and weaken from the excessive heat and pressure.

Metric hardened bolts are normally black in color, but not always. The 8.8 bolts aren't hardened (approximately equaivalent to a Grade 5 SAE bolt), but they will probably suffice if you really need an inexpensive alternative.

I wouldnt use anything other than oem style either i believe the last set i ordered was from sbr and didnt cost very much

LOL I tried the hardware 10.9's and as they said, due to the heat and tension on the bolts, I had to replace them about 4 months after with stock bolts. DONT GET HARDWARE BOLTS!!!

Welp i called Fastenal - Home | Fastenal and got 4 bolts custom ordered...

10x1.25x80mm parcial thread, tapered end. 12.9 Strength!!!!

4$ a piece.

I also got 4 coned washed for .76c a piece!

So screw oem...hahaha

Hey go to fastenal...they have locations all over the united states. I dont have to pay any shipping because im just gonna go pick them up! There actually right here in my town. As far as the washers..and bolts..you need to call them and they special order them! Fastenal is world known for providing bolts to roller coaster manufactures haha! 12.9 is stronger than stock oem so i dont forsee having any issues!

Well, they're the chrome moly ones, not the stainless steel ones. I would think those would be adequate. I can't say I've read about many people using them, or at least for an extended period of time. I definitely haven't heard of any reviews though. I'd say try them out and then write a review on them!

No I ordered SS ones.
