So, everyone agrees that you do not always need to get the turbo rebalanced?

I called a local shop and they wanted $275 to rebuild and balance + the price of the kit.

Sounds too good to be true that I don't have to balance. Is this true?

The list they have on the above link is true in my situation.

There are a few "ifs" here.

You do not need to get the turbo rebalanced at the time of a rebuild IF there is no wheel damage.

You do not need to get the turbo rebalanced at the time of a rebuild IF you marked the alignment of the compressor locknut to the compressor wheel. This only applies to turbos that are core-balanced, which would have balance grinds visible on the compressor locknut.

i already rebuilt it got bearings everything is fine but it needs to be balanced!! none of this is helping right now haha so if you know of a place that i CAN get it balanced let me kno

he gave you the info. Its $65 and you have to send it in. did you not read the page?

turbo exchange from Concord North Carolina quoted me 25 for a balance of my evo3 16g though i think its 25 for all balancing.

So I called these guys about 5 minutes ago and they now charge $75 like most other places. Sucks...

Just out of curiosity, how much is balancing equipment? $5k? $20k?

Depends what you're buying....digital, analog, Chinese, American, CHRA, component, dynamic, VSR, etc. Tons of options.
