Looking to go to slightly larger injectors. I'm not really into anything too involved. I am looking for the easiest way to control the injectors.
I have a 93 Talon w/6bolt motor. EvoIII turbo. Just wondering would it be ok
to go to 650's only using an AFC or something like that.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Regards
Greg

The easiest way would be DSM link to control injector in my opinion. The most cost efficient would be the SAFC. Those injectors will push you almost to the limit of what the SAFC can do but you should be fine just using the SAFC. If you plan on turning boost levels up I would also buy Walbro fuel pump, preferably a 255 with a fuel pressure regulator (saves you from having to upgrade the fuel pump in the future) and also rewiring the fuel pump to get the most out of it when needed.

Thanks. I have the AFPR and wally 255. Do you think 550's would be a better choice for an AFC?

Greg

I personally suggest you to try DSM link if you can afford it. Since you're looking for easy rather than cost it seems? I don't know; with link you'll have room to grow.

Since you have an AFPR you can drop the fuel pressure a little and then richen up your low throttle settings to compensate. That way you wont add as much timing from hiding airflow if you're not maxing the injectors out. Id say you would be ok with 650s...

HOWEVER the SAFC is a total joke compared to DSMLink or a flashed DSM/EVO ecu. Even when I bought my first SAFC I was dissatisfied with it.

Afc is about 300 new last i looked and dsmlink lite is like 380 or so i mean for 80 bucks more i think its a no brainer.

If you have any issue I would get on cincystreetscene and talk to hksdsm on there, his name is bryan he's pretty good with dsm's and he's in the cincinnati area.

THE EASIEST WAY IS THIS

Thanks for all the input. Money really isn't the issue. It is simplicity I'm after. I know DSM link is
the best tuning tool but I'm probably not knowledgable enough to play with it.

Actually if you read up on the ecmtuning site and watch the tutorial vids it is actually quite simple to use and there is more than enough help and info on these forums and on ECM forums to help you if you get stuck, I knew nothing if tuning before I bought link v3lite but after a few hrs of messing around , reading, asking questions on here, and videos, I'm pretty happy with the tune I did and once you figure it out upgrading parts and tuning for them is a breeze, whichever route you take there will always be a tonne of help on here so just read a bit about all your options

Edit: you wont be able to access ecmtuning forums unless you purchase link but I believe you can still watch the videos, check it out and see if it's for you!

If money is not an issue DO NOT GO WITH AN SAFC. On a 1g we already have very aggressive timing. When I ran 550's the most I could run is 18psi due too the excessive timing. ECMlink Lite is the way to go with simplicity and make the best power.

Sounds like v-3 lite is the way to go.

Thanks
Greg

I think you will be more than happy with results and how easy and newbie user friendly it is, plus it is good to know that there is a vast amount of knowledge on the forums to help you with any questions you will have:thumb: -Gary

Dsmlink the new version and lite is a great way to get started, very user friendly, tune your own car price is nice too, im kicking myself for spending money on stuff i really didnt need. The guys at ecmlink continously keep coming up with awesome features, and support is suberb.

iugrad92turbo.
## 92 looks like my 93. Same color paint only yours looks like it's not
faded like mine.

I don't want to argue here, but the simplest way to do what you need done is to socket the ECU and have DSMChips aka Keydiver burn you a chip for your setup. You will have a safe proven tune on your car with 100% plug and go ease. Heck, just send him your ecu, have him socket and do the chip at the same time, plug it back in your car and set the base timing and you're done! I'm all for ECMLink V3 as I'm a dealer and run one in my personal car but if you're really just after the easiest way to get the job done a DSMChip is the answer you're really after.

Hes 1g, why hasn't anyone mentioned ds-map yet? Best, easiest, cheapest way to go on a 1g by far. If he has a eprom ecu the only thing he will have to buy for full speed density tuning is moates ostrich which can be had for $150. Throw that maf out, sd all the way.

Everyone
This a great amount of good information and is much appreciated.
It is always nice to have this much experience to tackle a problem.
