So I have the opportunity to purchase an apexi AFC or greddy emanage. Both are brand new and I can get either or for $150. All I have is a Mac but my friend has a laptop I could use the emanage with. Now he's my question. All my mods are in my profile but I'm slowly building, which would be more practical for me. I know the afc is just a bandaid but I'll be getting dsmlink probably in about 6-8 months. So which one do you guys recommend and how easy are they both to learn to tune on? Thanks guys.

I would honestly say save the 150$ and put it towards something else...Why spend 150$ on something when its going to get replaced Later on I would rather put that 150$ towards some maintenance or something more worth while personally speaking.

I honestly have not looked into emanage for 2g, but I have seen emanage on an 06 TC and it was about a 5k for it. So naturally being greddy and being 5 thousand dollars, it worked amazingly well. SAFC is somewhere at 200 new? So if its the emanage i'm thinking of or close to it, I would definately go that route, and then there may be no need for dsmlink in the future. But again I haven't really done my homework in this area yet, so best of all the advice is do your own homework and figure out your practical plans.

Edit* someone should remove this post, so I can know what i'm talking about before I get type happy. Haha, but anyways, the greddy emanage ultimate is only 690. The 5 grand I was referring to was the entire turbo kit with emanage ultimate included. So all in all my preference is having a laptop vs. a "dinky controller" it's alot easier and you really don't have to have a laptop all of the time. Although a dinky controller would come in handy when you have to work on your car in bfe with no laptop and have to reset all of your maps.

K dont take the common advice Greddy emange might be easier since its being used on a laptop not some small dinky controller. Love when people on the forums trip out over an answer just giving my .02 Cents damn

Why not just run Evoscan with the Ceddy mod's.

+1... You have a 99 so you have the flushable ECU. all you need is an openport 2.0 adapter, a copy of EVOscan, and a copy of ECUflash and you will have everything you need to Log and tune your car with for about $200.

Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 Universal USB Cable This should come with a copy of EVOscan or you can go to Tactrix Openport 2.0 and then purchase EVOscan separate. Everything else is free (donations appreciated), just do some research into Ceddy mods and you should find everything you need.

Both are a waste. I bought a SAFC II, used it for 3 min. Traded for an Emanage setup, used it for a day. Then sold it. Went Evo ecu, never looked back. $200 total for the ECU and cable... 100% better than either one.

No chip is needed to run ecuflash, it basically writes a new image onto the ecu to compensate for bigger injectors. To run DSMlink you would need an eprom ecu, i.e. buy another ecu so that would be a waste of money considering you already have the 99 flashable one
