its hard to tell, it worked fine on my gst before i removed it. im gonna take the interior pieces off the truck and see if its hitting or not.

edit:i took interior parts off still doesnt close all the way. my last guess is gonna be the latch that goes in the hatch, im gonna swap it with the one on the 95 trunk then see if it works.

Did you change to a new trunk?
Also when I changed mine, i had the shock's back ward. Double double check the shocks where it mounts. I bet that's the problem.

not new just off my 99 gst damn:ohdamn: i just bolted them down didnt know they could be backwards

The trunk shocks WILL fit backwards regardless. You have to make sure the shock that mounts to the car frame is correct!
I can't find a decent picture on google but what I mean is this part.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HATC...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
The shock on the top right and bottom shock to the left where it mounts to the body of the car. It WILL fit regardless if it's backward or not. But when you put it in backwards it will not close like the problem you are having!

But in your case it might not look like a shock mounting problem.

Could be the actually loop hinge, on the hatch itself.
Early 95's have a shorter or longer one , I forget.
Is yours an early 95?
I know when I swapped over a 97 hatch, I had to swap the hatch hook over too.
One of them was like an inch longer than the other.
I had the same problem, if you have to original hatch check it out.
Here is a picture of what I'm talking about.

Check your build date, if you have a 94 build date then you have an early 95.
They have some little differences than all the other 2g's.
For example, the have bigger pockets in the door panels and only early 95's had a blue interior option.
There is more stuff, I'm just saying they do have some quirky differences.

swapped them and it fixed the problem thanx
