Trunk Release Not Working

Not really familiar with this.

Until today my lever for my trunk has always worked on my 1g N/T DD, went to open it and it won't open at all. Honestly the lever has always felt kind of weak but has always popped the trunk.

Is there an easily accessed cable for it? Don't want to start pulling stuff apart before I know what I'm looking for.

I'm pretty much locked out of my trunk right now since my key doesn't work in my trunk either.

I believe it runs on a cable system, best bet it to pull the panel in between the tail lights look for the cable and trace it down. I'm not 100% but it should run down the drivers side behind the plastic pieces that cover the speakers. Hope this helps.

Like they said check the cable make sure all parts are connected and no broken parts

Since you are locked out of your trunk due to a non working key, the best thing to do is pull the cover off the latch area, and use a pair of pliers to pull the trunk cable far enough to open it.

Then you can get into the hatch and pull off the paneling that you will need to remove to get to the cable and everything else you need. Otherwise your going to need a locksmith to make you a good key for the trunk, unless it isn't working for some other reason.
