trouble with install

i have a garrett t3 turbo on a 1990 eclipse gsx, it runs, but will not spool to over 2 psi of boost, i have a 13lb spring in the tial 35mm external wastegate. It also will not blow off, but i think that is due to lack of boost.

The wastegate could be stuck open, the turbo could be defective, or you could have a massive boost leak.

2psi sounds more like a defective turbo or an open wastegate than boost leaks, it would have to be massive boost leaks and you should be bogging and backfiring like crazy every time you get on it.

i heard that you get an extra pound or two withou the fire ring, turns out, the turbo won't boost withiut the fire ring, its fine now
