Awesome build thread love the detail and who doesn't love pictures.

Thanks for supporting FP and running our turbo can't wait to see what it does for you.

Thank you so much!

I really am excited to see what this turbo can do! Should really make this car come alive. And yes, I am a little camera happy!

Well, ordered a new alternator for the car today. Got the 90-amp one from a Galant VR-4. Also ordered up new tires (Hankook Ventus-Rs3) for the black wheels. Planning on celebrating my over-the-hill birthday at the track. Will be curious as to what just a wheel/tire change can do for the car. Guess we shall find out! THEN, (as long as it is in one piece still) the turbo swap will occur with a speed density conversion.

Alternator on. New injectors arrived. Still waiting on one tire to come in.... suppose to be a nice weekend, so going to try to tackle some of these new parts! Ideally would like to do the suspension and wheels first. We shall see.

Working on the car really makes me want to take it all apart and start over. Car is disgusting with the wires all over and it really does need paint. That will be addressed this fall for sure. Right now, since the season started, I really do not want it down for paint. Plus, it makes more sense to do the body stuff at the end of the season.

Wooo better get crackin! Did you say you were going to automotion this year? Id agree, wait till the off season to paint. My new paint job took a little beating last year. I was pretty upset. Mostly rock chips. D:

Doesn't that suck? I'll be looking into that 3m stuff that is clear and protects the front end once I get the paint work done. That's for sure!! I will not be there, as I'll be working some Chrysler event in Chicago. :(

Awesome build! Keep it up!
Specs on the wheels?
Thanks! They are Motegi Traklites 16 X7. they weigh in at 12.5 pounds! :D Got them for under $200 each brand new, so was pretty thrilled. I'm trying to find a balance between lighter weight and tire size, so kinda made some sacrifices on both ends. Will be running a 225/50/R16 Hankook Ventus RS3 tire.

cool just lmk i might be picking one up :hellyeah:

Will do! Trying to get everything sorted out. Wasn't planning on switching out turbos this soon, truthfully.

Went out to try to jump the car and now there's something up with the starter. LOL.. car doesn't want to "wake up" from the winter nap, that's for sure.

Yes, there is some.. 93oct was last used. It's not even trying to crank over. Does the click-click thing.

It was running a few weeks ago when it had to be moved; but wouldn't stay running unless on support, so that's what made me think the alternator finally crapped out. That and it would get erratic lower voltage readings for the last few years.

Put a multimeter on the battery and check voltage there should be right around 12v. Also check for any loose grounds. Even with a bad alternator the car will still run (like crap) but with a bad battery from sitting will also cause it to go click. If you get the car running check the voltage at the terminals it should read around 14.5-14.7v if the alternator is good.

^^ thanks! It ended up being the solenoid on the starter. The terminal came loose.

Black carpet installed. Wasn't originally planning on doing that right away, but half the interior had to come apart to get the never-used meth kit out.

Didn't know all this was required for a starter install. (The original plan.. LOL!) Speaking of which, the car has never started to easily before! It seems to be loving the new starter and alternator. Considering the old ones were from my white car, and thus have over 200k miles on them... guess it was about time for them to get tired. ;)

1992 Dakota, 87 Shadow, 87 CSX, and 87 Daytona are the other cars in the photo. Yes, most early to mid-90's Chrysler products had a paint problem. Unfortunate, really. :( Said it was a primer issue, and it did effect certain colors more.

Out of all the cars in the photo, the Daytona is the quickest running a 10.5 in the quarter. Not to bad for FWD. ;)

Spring startup video. Just because. :)

New wheels! The new combo weighs in a 33lbs. The outgoing GST combo was 37lbs.

LOL, well you know me... everything that happens to that car is like the worst thing in the world. haha!

I need to weigh the stock one. This one weighs between 8 to 10 pounds. From the "feel" of the stock one, its well over 20.

I'll toss it on a scale this weekend and see. :)

Really looks good. I got a soft spot for Talons, my first DSM was a Talon, and yours is definitely one of the more tastefully done ones on here. Are you planning to put the high rise wing on the CSL hatch? Haven't seen anyone do it yet, probably since they cost so much... :hmm:
