I have a hole in my transmission case and I'm getting ready to replace it. I just was wondering if y'all think it would be a good Ideal to go ahead and change the clutch and flywheel. I don't know how many miles are on them but I have never had a problem with it slipping or any noises. Or should it be one of those thing that if its not broke don't fix it.

Since your there inspect and if you want change everything if your there upgrade. oem tob, fork, dowel pins slave cylinder the works if the money is there.

I would at least pull the pressure plate off and inspect everything. If it looks to be in good condition than i would run it. There are lots of people that will replace a clutch just because the tranny is out, but if it is in spec i would run it. The thing i would buy is a new fork, tob, and pivot ball.

That's what I was thinking. But I've never owned a dsm or anything awd so I didn't know if changing something that wasn't broke is just asking for trouble.

Thanks for the help man. If I do go ahead and change it which clutch would you go with the act 2600 or the xdt stage 4 ill get the tob off rockauto

Well if your a street car i would go with a 2100 disc heavy duty, holds up great and a few times at the track, but what kind of driving would you be doing ,a 2600 i would hold out on if i were me if you drive as a daily car a lot.

Just dd mostly I may hit the track here and there or some rolls on the highway that's about it not racing everyday

If you get an xtd stay away from the un-sprung disc. I have had multiple of them come apart. I would personally look at act or fidanza if you want an aftermarket.
