Resolved transmission locked up

You should not drive it in general. You needing it to work will not defy laws of the universe here. Invest in a beater honda that runs and drives and put this car on the back burner. TRE is a transmission shop that specializes in DSM trans but even he can't work magic. Typical turnaround time, if you can even get a hold of him, is like at least a few days. Assuming he doesn't have a backlog of orders. So if you want to risk driving it at highway speeds and having it lock up, that's on you, but on behalf of everyone on these forums, we hold no liability. You've been forewarned and advised not to do so. Good luck. Try not to take anyone out.

Just to clarify if you didnt already know, a 90 has its own EVERYTHING transmission wise. Shifter assembly, cables, cable brackets, trans. I'd guess the axles too probably but I dont have any experience in that arena. I had a buddy who had a 90 and needed new cables and it was a nightmare.

Pretty sure I have a 90 FWD turbo trans. It was from a laser, its a good core needs a rebuild. If I remember correctly it had a 3rd gear problem. Let me know if you want me to dig thru the piles of parts for it.

I second crimsondragon: find a 750 dollar car that gets you to work. Save up and get a tranny. Good luck, Man i remember having one car and doing anything and everything just to get it to get me to WORK! I understand why you're reluctant, we all get it. DSMs typically arent recommended as DD cars or an only car. Primarily cause they were abused before you bought it and the simple fact that its nearly 25 yrs old. I wish you the best of luck. Work is primary objective, money will come and go and so will dsms, just put the food on the table bro! You'll be fine and have a new tranny soon enough

Found out what it was. Third gear syncro locked up my trans. Now its dead or broke off the of where it was. Car runs great again like it did. Getting a replacement tranny in 2 weeks.

You don't even know what a syncronizer is, or the reason as to why it wasn't the syncro that was causing the trans to lock up.

The syncro slows to the speed of the engine to ensure of a no grinding shift. True I don't know completely, but since I sorta had 3rd still slightly working and now I can just push my way into third without any resistance I'm sure its dead. Or stuck. Or something. Just not sure what.

Syncronizer is a way to lock the speed gear to the main or counter shaft to apply power. Doubt the syncro was locking it up like wheat is saying.
Has to be something much more ominous than that. Like a diff failure, bearings seizing, something drastic.
