Typically don’t have to post due to being able to find the answer however not finding much..

Go to take the car for a spin since I’m heading home for Thanksgiving, pull out and notice a pool of oil. Was super stumped for a minute until I smelled it and it was gear oil.

Jacked the car up and noticed it was running from the transmission where the transfer case mates to the transmission.

100% is transmission fluid due to the transfer case having shockproof in it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here as to what may be causing this ?
While I was down there, I noticed a transfer case bolt was missing, would that have anything to do with it?

Thank you for the input.

I’m not sure anyone is going to be able to identify the root cause with a picture. You are going to have to trace down the leak yourself. The first place to check would be the output shaft area but honestly could be coming from anywhere and it is just collecting at that low point.

I also noticed your clutch slave cylinder is wet with what appears to be brake fluid from the piston area.

If you're sure it's not the transfer case, I'd be willing to bet it's the transmission output shaft seal. The really sucky thing about that seal is you have to drop the transmission to get access to it. I've never figured out a way to pry out the old one and get a new seal past the flywheel.

I've heard of both ways after doing some reading, it would be interesting to hear some experience for anyone that has recently done this on the car. Objectively it seams feasible, but I can understand why it would not work.

One option might be to pull the top case to the trans, pull the VC, and then you can pull the output shaft out. That might give you enough clearance to replace that seal.

Mods, merged post fail. That's my output shaft pic under TCB91GSX's post.:idontknow: (you can delete this post too if you want ROFL)

I've done it that way, sucks to do cause you really need to pull the sandwhich plate too and reseal it.

drop the trans and inspect. It output shaft seal more than likely, but I've had dumb shit happen, like a dowel came out of flwheel and poked a hole in the case. Or break a 1/2 shift fork and break the case.
