Resolved Transmission Bolts

I am removing my transmission on my 91 Talon TSI. I have removed 4 bolts between the motor and the transmission and the bolt from the transmission mount. I looked online and found a bolt kit from JZN Tuning that shows 5 bolts. I cannot find a fifth, very short bolt, but I can not get the transmission to come free. I just don't want to pull too hard and strip or snap something. Here are the four bolts Y removed between the block and transmission. Please let me know if I missed anything or if it is just time to pull and pry. Thanks.

There is a small bolt that enters the transmission from the back side thru the block! If I'm not mistaken it may be thru the dowelpin area, but I know its back there! I had the same issue many years ago pulling my first trans! Good luck

1Gs have 4 "main" bolts holding the block and transmission together. 2Gs have 5 "main" bolts. That could account for the difference on the site you checked. It looks like you have those 4 out for your car.

There are a couple other bolts that go to the transmission, not necessarily for holding the transmission and block together, but will catch you up: one goes through the starter plate on the front side; the other(s) are on the lower flywheel inspection plate. Make sure you get those out as well.

If it is an automatic transmission, you need to unbolt the drive plate from the oil pump by removing the inspection plate and turning the motor by hand to get to all the bolts.
