I have a stock gsx manual. Recently removed transfer case because the previous owner said there was a whining sound coming from the car when driving.

The output shaft that goes into the drive shaft, has play where I can move it up/down and left/right, but not in/out. I haven't been able to find much on it, is this a bad sign and I should replace the transfer case?

I've posted some photos of the spline below. I believe they look good, but as it's my first time looking at actual splines I'm not quite sure.

Thanks, will look into a replacement for now. I want to try rebuilding it in the future though, are there any rebuild kits? I looked on Jack's transmissions, but I only saw bearing replacements.

Unless the shafts are damaged that's all there is.
