Apperently I have the wrong T-case on my tran. I am wondering if it is possible to remove and replace the center shaft of the tranny? and how.. so i can have the right amount of splines. I have apperently a 22 spline and my tcase is a 23..

Yes, the Output shaft on the Transmission can be swapped, it is a fairly simple process... I used the link below to figure it out:

Tranny Rebuild

Basically the first 3 steps of this procedure then just slide the output shaft carefully out the front. Insert the new shaft and reverse the steps. It is not as hard as it might look at first so don't worry... just don't loose the little ball(s) when you pull off the Viscous coupler! :thumb:

I took off my tcase and drive shaft so no i just have front wheel drive. but whenever i accelerate i hear a rattling im wondering if it is the center shaft running free? or mabey my timing belt rubbing against the cover.. i noticed my belt has the grooves showinig through the top already and there is every centimeter and inch long groove in the middle..

If your Timing belt has any visual wear at all, especially if it is a s bad as your describing, You should look into changing it before it breaks or strips the teeth... then it will be time to rebuild the head also! :(

DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR

You can't just take the T-case off and make it 'fwd' you will destroy your transmission pretty quick. Replace the shaft or don't drink it.

is the timing belt able to be replaced without pulling the engine? easilyish

I am wondering where to get a center shaft

also since i took the tcase off i have clutch slip. would that be because the transmission is meant for AWD and isnt happy with what i've done? causing the slip

You're not supposed to take the transfer case off and run the car because there's a part in the transmission called the viscous coupler that balances the power between the front and rear tires and if you just take the transfer case off and drive it then it completely burns the viscous coupler up. So more than likely your viscous coupler is FUBAR, so first, get a new one of those.
