trans shifting odd, while speedo fluctuates

Ok, I've searched and can't find an answer. So here goes. I have a 95 talon tsi awd that I just put a fresh tranny in. I drove the car to my dad's shop to weld up the shock towers and put a new trans cooler in. After that I went to drive the car home and I noticed that my speedo was getting up to about 20 mph and dropping speratically and when that happens the tranny goes into neutral safety and just spins. I am thinking its the vss, Its just odd that it was fine this morning and not now. Just wondering if anyone has ran into this. Thanks in advance.

So you have a new automatic tranny that operated perfectly until you installed a trans cooler?
Did you try removing the cooler to see if it has something to do with your install?
