Trans Pops out of 2 and 4..any ideas?

Ok so my car has been down for a while and I just got it back up and running and now I notice that the tranny pops out of 2nd and 4th sometimes. This was not happening before I took the car off the road 2 months ago. Does anyone have any ideas? Could it be my shifter adustments are off? Could that cause it to pop out of 2nd and 4th when Im driving it?

What was all done when the car went down. By chance did any of the motor/trans mount get taken off or loosened. Just an idea... To my knowledge: I havent seen any 2g's with adjustable linkage. So the next other though....(if nothing else was changed) would be some type of excessive twisting on the engine, Possibly a bent shifter linkage, ect....

If I am wrong sorry.... Give some better info and I will try and give you a better answer!

all that was replaced when I took it off the road was turbo, injectors, fmic, and I put in prothane motor mounts.

Was there any difficulty to this? Slide right in, or pain in the butt.

Did the motor get shaken enough to possibly bend a shift cable. Did you possibly hit the shifter assembly (trans side) when denting a water pipe? Anything to this nature may cause what you are explaining. If reverse were not straight cut, I bet that would be having issues as well.

Anything that may misalign the way the linkage meets the trans, in ANY way could be the problem. Take a look at these items and see what you can find.

I'm having the same problem but we already figured out my shifter cables are bad soI am now lookin for new ones. I was just curious what can go bad on cables as my car started to pop out of 3rd and it did not before i did work on it. I changed engines too.
