i was driving yesterday and i accidentally moved the shifter while it was in gear and i popped out. this never happened before. i just installed a new clutch line . i tried a search but this is all i got http://dsmtuners.com/forums/search.php

Might want to be a little more descriptive than that. What gear, you hit it? YOU could have knocked it out of gear?

Okay, this seems to be an easy fix. Depress the clutch before moving the shifter while it's in gear. Also let off the gas. Tada! No funny noises.

Seriously man, more info here, right now it just sounds like you pulled the shifter out of gear without using the clutch---it happens, just don't do it again. On purpose.

that's exactly what happened but it wasn't on purpose it was accidentally. now if its in any gear it will just come out of gear without the clutch being pressed and it never used to do that. and it has come out of gear by itself sometimes.

You guys are no help. This is a common problem on 1g's, I'm not sure about 2g's. However. You need to take of your wheel on the passenger side. Remove the annoying plastic splash guard/cover. Take of the cover on the side of the transmission. Becareful not to harm the cover. See those 2 really big lock nuts? Those come loose over time. You must tighten those to about 100 ft/lbs of torque and then bang on the shaft diagnally with a screwdriver and a small hammer to lock the nuts in place. This tightens and alligns everything correctly inside and you will no longer have those pop out issues. More pics and info on vfaq. :thumb:

I used to be able to pull my 2g out of gear and my 1g now. How do you think you power shift. Even below 2000rpm my shifter will slide right out of gear with no grinding or hesitation. It's just a transmission thing. Any vehicle with a manual will do it.

i somehow doubt that. i dont know much about trannies but i dont think its suppose to do that because when i first got it it wouldn't do it. i tried it to see if it worked but didint do it too hard and now it comes out easily.

also i can put it into first when slowing down in neutral. could this be why it pops out of gear and will TurboChrged93's info help stop that from happening?
