1st gear pops out

Whenever I drive in first gear and let off the throttle and the RPMs get low, the shifter pops out of gear. Anybody know what's wrong?

same thing happened in my gst. from what i understand this is a pretty common problem in 2g's. do you have any grinding problems when you shift?

yea, 1st and 2nd gear would sometimes grind when i shift into it

could be a worn shirt fork, worn 1st gear, worn 1/2 hub and slider, worn intermediate shaft end bearing, worn spring for the 1/2 rail or something blocking your shifter.

Yea it could really be anything. My car was doing this too and it was a chipped up 1st gear.

Try adjusting your shift cable before you buy a new tranny.
