Tranny Stuck I can seem to get it off the block?

well I was hoping I could salvage my transmission but for some reason the thing wont budge..I bought the car non running and I went to remove it and it doesnt seem to move at all..I made sure I took all the bolts off and it still wont come off those pegs that hold it in place? and just the other day my jerk of a friend hit it with a hammer that wasnt a rubber headed hammer and broke a pieace off the tranny...which kinda screwed me so I dont know what else to do? should I just get anouther tranny? 1991 TSI AWD

I am not insulting your intelligence i promise. are you using a jack or anything to support the tranny or are you just trying to pull it off. second if the jack is not taking enough weight or pushing to far up it is a pain to get off. i recently changed my clutch and was cussing the tranny cause it was a pain to take off and put back on. other than that i do not know.
