OK driving home I noticed the car was shaking a little every time i hit the clutch pedal to change gears. About a block from my house car started shaking vigorously and i could smell gear oil. As soon as i let the clutch out it calmed down. Got home jacked it up and it was pouring all kinds of gear oil, looked like it was coming out between t-case and tranny. So i took the t-case out change both seals, and change the axle seal in the tranny. I put it all back together and the same thing happened, it starts shaking and barely gets in gear, and offcourse still leaking. When i shut it off it goes in every gear very smooth. Any ideas???

P.S. I opened the t-case up and everything was fine in there no sign of wear and no play in the bearings

Check to make sure all the bolts holding your transmission to your block are in place and secure. Have someone sit in the car and depress the clutch when it is off while you watch your engine bay. I'd bet you see the transmission moving away from the motor.

Hopefully thats the fix and all you have to do is tighten the bolts and put more gear oil in it.

I wish....Took the tranny out last night as you said some of the bolts weren't tight but they were still tight enough. I put the intermediate shaft in it and there was like an inch of play (moving the shaft around) which caused all the problems and i found the bolt that is in the back of the transmission broken off chilling between the tranny and the tcase. Looks like the tranny is pretty much intact, i hope the only thing that went out are the diff bearings. Any ideas or experiences with this???

My trannky kicked the curb a few months ago! i had a bad tranny many years of pushing the car hard! but from what i can tell it should not be anything major is there any shavings in the oil? is the oil clean? etc.>> tranny oil of course.... and put everything together and see what happens! keep us updated! if you getting a rebuild SHEP Racing ! got mine a few months ago and doing good pulls nice! good luck

yeah i tried putting it back together but something shifted looks like the intermediate shaft doesnt get all the way in and it keeps leaking out. Fluid came out clean tho, no shavings at all.
