Okay I am at a complete loss on this car. Here it goes. 1 month ago I had to put in a new clutch. I put the new clutch in and it didn't work. The tranny grinds and wont go into gear while running but when the car is off I can put it into gear with ease and I can start it up in gear. I got the tranny rebuilt and I still have the problem  Can someone help

I figure this might help was well. When I start the car in gear the car will start put it will want to go buy its self like an automatic. Has new slave cylinder also. Please help

My thoughts are that it is the throwout bearing. I had the exact same problem with mine, and coincidentally my throwout bearing came out in 4 pieces.

Maybe I'm off base here, but if it was the clutch, wouldn't you try start it in gear and the car would try to move a little due to it not being fully disengaged? Or just plain not start if the clutch was grabbing too hard?

Okay I tried the whole adjustment thing with no help. The clutch doesnt fully disengage and it still starts. My bearing is brand new and they gave me another when they rebuilt the tranny because the broke it so its new and from a mitsu dealer. I talked to the guy who rebuilt he also said it could be the clutch fork. At this point I am welling to do anything

Thanks for the help

I have the same exact problem on my 1.8l 5 speed. If the car is off, pushi n the clutch put it into 1st, start the car and you can drive normally. It is still hard to change gears though and if you have to stop you have to shut off car, put it into 1st and redo it all over again. This does not happen all the time though......some days I start the car and it works JUST FINE! Can this be a fluid problem?

I bleed the clutch about 10 times and I got it into gear. It would Shift gears while the car is running, but i have to push all off my body weight into it to put into gear but doesn't grind.
Althought when i went to build it after the i drove if the fluid being bled was hot and the fluid in the master cylinder whas ice cold does this mean anything
