could i mount a tranny cooler in the opening vent of my 2g 95gst???

You can mount a tranny cooler anywhere, given that it gets adequate airflow. I just installed a FMIC and doing so I had to remove the stock tranny cooler that was mounted in front of the AC condenser (I also had a second tranny cooler in series). I relocated the other cooler in the stock SMIC location, thinking that would get enough airflow for cooling. To my surprise, the temps were alot hotter now that with the previous 2 coolers.

I am now removing this cooler and mounting (SMIC location) one that has a 7in fan and a thermo switch that turns on at 160F. This should help with cooling.

If you have the stock SMIC, put the tranny cooler in front of the drivers wheel, I had mine mounted there, though there was not a whole lot of room. If you do not have the SMIC anymore, mount the tranny cooler in front of the passenger wheel, alot more room and the cooler lines will be shorter.

2G GSXs have the stock trans cooler in front of the drivers side wheel. GSTs can either mount it in front (replace the stock cooler) or place it where the SMIC used to be (if you have a FMIC)
