Torque specs wrong, bolts streched?

My friend has a 2g engine using eagle rods and arp main studs.
He was given the wrong torque specs.
Rod:55 ft lbs
main: 80 ft lbs.
The specs that I have is:
rod:45 ft lbs
main:70 ft lbs.
Can than 10 lbs cause over streching?
The engine still turns smoothly .
Does he has to disassemble the engine?

They could be streched but I would be more worried about the clearances being to tight. The only way to be sure is to pull it apart and check them.An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

ARP gives 2 diffrent specs, normally around 10ft/lbs diffrent, it depends if he used the ARP moly lube (lower spec) or 30wt motor oil (higer spec)

ARP dosnt strech like a TTY bolt and I higly doubt that 10ft/lbs would strech an ARP
Most bolts can be over torqued by 10-12% and still be fine and able to be used.

BogusSVO totally agree with you,same thing I was told today.
But does he have to loose those bolts and retorque?
Btw he has used the arp chromoly lube

yes I would loosen and retorque to the proper specs for the ARP moly lube.... it should not take 20 mins to redo the mains and rods. as long as the oil pan is off.
