hey guys, i have an injen intake, and 3" catback exhaust.... and soon putting on the 3" cat, and downpipe

with just the intake/catback im boosting up to about 14-15 .... is this normal / ok ?

do i even need a boost controller now? LOL

how much PSI can the stock 2g take ???

You can run 14 or 15 safely many people run 16 if i were u i would stil lget a boost controller becasue if u plan to mod alot later u will need one with a new turbo. It isnt normal though to be runnign 14 0r 15 without a boost controller but its a good thing LOL so i wouldnt worry about it.

this may be a stupid question, but how are you getting 15 psi out of your car without a boost controller?

By freeing up your intake & exhaust you get more boost even without a boost controller. If you remove the restrictor in the bcs you will get even more (sometimes to much once you've got rid of the intake/exhaust restrictions).

I would still recommend a boost controller. Before I installed my mbc and was just trying out all the other bolt on mods I installed I found the boost was all over the place, it was up & down through the gear & it was never constant. A boost controller will obviously let you adjust the boost to what you want but will keep the boost alot more constant & will help to keep your boost from falling off so quickly in the higher rpms.

How much boost can a 2g take? that depends alot on your turbo setup & what supporting mods you have. With intake, exhaust, ic pipes, upgraded bov you can run the t25 at 15-16 psi. Since the t25 is so small any more boost then that & you will be out of its efficency range & just making heat (bad for the turbo & motor). With a larger turbo and the proper bolt on supporting mods lots of guys are running 18-20+ psi daily.

Just be careful with the boosting and check for boost leaks really good. I have a datalogger and I keep getting knock from somewhere and I'm still only running 13 psi, I turned it down until I can get this straightened out.

also you are going to want to get an aftermarket boost gauge. The stock ones aren't very accurate.

This is what you need for the future:

T3/T4 60 trim

1000cc injectors

two Walbro 255 HP rewired

AFPR (Any kind)

AEM EMS

3 inch straight exhaust

External wastegate 46mm

Really big FMIC (Front Mounted Intercooler) /w all the plumbing

ACT2900 /w Fidenza Flywheel and a John Sheppard Transmission

Gauges : Boost/EGT/Oil Pressure/Air to Fuel/Water temp/Oil temp/and shit temperature when you crap yourself down the 1/4 mile, dont want to get too hot or it will start to stink.

With those mods, you will run 9 second 1/4 mile times (If you cant drive than its 11 seconds).
