So i went to get some new tires and an alignment today.... it didn't go as i had hoped, for some reason my cars never fare well when it comes to alignment time. Everything seemed ok but on my way out was told i needed a camber kit due to the -1.7 up front and -3.0 degrees in the rear(washer fix coming soon). When i got home i realized the toe on one of my corners wasn't even adjusted and was at .32. I called back and was told that his impact couldn't loosen the bolt so he left it.... thanks Schuab, anyways i got it loose with minimal effort (no joke) i took it back where the man "correctly adjusted" it. The numbers on the printout look fine but for some reason the right rear side looks like it still has noticeably more toe then the other....there is a 5 degree difference from the left rear (still in spec) but is that enough to make it look as weird as it does? I am about to load some pics and if i could get opinions please let me know if i am wrong on this, or if it does in fact look weird....thanks

It may very well be difficult to tell from my pictures but its worth a try.....

I repeat did they do a steering suspension inspection. If you have worn out components it could easily explain why youe specs are always different. They are also using an old style machine which unless operated properly and meticulously you can have variations everytime. Regardless the lack of detail in this alignment wouldnt put alot of trust in me to do a steering suspension inspection properly on these cars.
Also notice how your second printout is the one with your bad SAI measurment.

I'm going to go with a no on the inspections, especially due to the fact that nothing was ever brought to my attention. Ill have to run threw my suspension when installing the camber kit and replace anything accordingly.

A difference of .10* in toe (or camber, for that matter) between two installations of the flashy things on the wheels isn't that strange. It would be nice if it didn't change between installations, but it's not atypical for it to change that much. I'm now cool with that aspect of all this. I, personally, would have preferred about half as much rear toe, but if the OP didn't specify a target, the tech did exactly as he or she should in getting it near the center of spec range.

Like someone above, I'm a tad confused by the 2* difference in SIA and included angle. This can be caused by not swinging the fronts the whole way in both directions during the initial measurements. I note that the first print-out has near-equal values, so that's my guess on what happened: the tech didn't do a full and equal swing when aligning the car the second time, maybe because he or she was annoyed.

Just space out the rear arms to get the rear camber down to about 2/3 of the front, get a final alignment, and move on with life, is what I'd do. And specify less rear toe this time. About .06* per side is enough for hard braking stability.

Very typical with these old machines completely agree, i work with a new and old style daily and the new style is much better

This shouldnt really happen when you select the option to do a caster swing its a pre programmed order you follow and cant continue without doing the sweeps properly, only thing i can think of is a glitch in the machine or like i said worn out components. For instance you have a very badly worn out ball joint or bushing that while doing your sweeps can pop out of its normal position shifting the camber/caster equally from side to side which would result in the near same cam/cast readings but really poor sai readings. Clear as mud LOL?

If you need info on how to properly check components on these cars im sure there is a page on this site or shoot me a pm and ill help the best that i can.
