Tire Width on lowered car

I know people have posted how wide they've gone with stock height, but I'm planning on lowering the car around 1.2-1.3" with the TEIN Flex.

Looking at getting 17" rims, not sure which offset I need yet. But what's the widest tire I can run without rubbing?

235? 245? 255? and by 40? 45?

What width rim should I go with 7.5" or 8.0" ?


Just to be clear, this is for daily driving.

I rubbed the rear tires with my 225/45-17's on 17x8 rims and a pro kit. It wasn't much but enough to be annoying and cut my tires a bit. I just took a hammer to the lip on the inside of the rear wheel wells and no more rubbing.

I rub the rears with 17x8 and 235/45/17 tires on H&R sport springs.
Really annoying at times.

Im running 225-45-17 and I have less than 3 Inches between the ground and the bottom of my car and wheel gap so small you can barely fit a finger. You might be able to do 235 -45 but I am uncertain. This is with Coilovers as well. and like Jmonet said just take a rubber hammer or something to the wheel well so if you do rub it doesn't rip your tire apart
