Looking for recommendations for tires on a 300+hp gst. Would really like to have replies that contain real experience, not speculation or reviews that have been read...I can do that on my own, which I have done. I just would like to hear from people that have ran what they suggest.

What weather does the car see?
Do you want something that is good for handling, good for straight line traction? How much of a trade-off are you willing to make for performance vs. noise and wear?

Thank you for asking for more info, I should've provided that first. Pretty much a daily driver (when I'm not working on it, dsm life huh? Lol) I have my jeep for winter weather, it will be driven in the rain. I'm willing to sacrifice some aspects of performance, but my main thing is being able to put the power down (I understand that's going to be limited in a street car) that I'm making now and will be making after some upgrades.
 
I'm going to agree. What does the car do?
I love michelin Pilots on a daily driven car but my next tire for my weekend only car will likely be something softer as i don't care about wear on a car I drive occasionally and not daily. The pilot super sport was the best all around tire i have owned. And I've owned many. Falken, sumitomo, bfgoodrich, yokohama etc. Pilot SS killed them all performance wise with one exception. Yokohama AVS intermediate was better but they were bald in 9000mi. Yes it was STUPID soft. I have yet to try the following but for something not daily driven I'm leaning toward Toyo 888, bridgestone RE71rs or yokohama advan a052
 
The Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 is a really, really good tire at a great price. They'll have a slightly stiffer sidewall, so not the greatest choice if straight-line traction is the main priority, but they stick, wear slowly, drive quietly, are great in the rain, and are great value overall. For something that you want to maximal handling grip out of, I'd look towards the 200 treadwear category, but those are basically meant to be cheater slicks in autocross, so of course they're going to stick.

I appreciate that, good info. I guess I'm basically looking for something that's a mix of road worthy and will still bite when I want to do a pull (just for tuning purposes of course 😁). I understand that I'll probably have to sacrifice one or the other to an extent.
 
If you have an open front differential, you'll be pissing into the wind for traction at 300 hp anyway, regardless of tire choice. A 15" or 16" tire will at least give you some sidewall flexibility for traction, but short of a full-out winter tire with pillowy soft sidewalls, it's going to struggle. My 260whp, open differential Neon with 215/40R17s was horrific.

I do, looking into a lsd for it. Currently on 225/50R16 Mastercraft mc-440's and I've worn the front 2 (right front is getting below the wear bars) in about 5 months. Granted, I bought them used, but were 90%+. Needed tires when I bought the car and scored all 4 locally for $140
 
Ok maybe not for the same money, but they're just placed oddly in price point. i should have said a bit more gets you a much better tire.
Your suspension setup will matter almost as much as your tire in keeping traction as well.
