Timing tensioner? Car wont start and timing belt cover cracked.

I was driving and pushed to hard to about 5k and then my car just turned off. I was rolling and then i tried to put it in gear and let of the clutch but the car wouldn't grab and sounded kinda metally , The car wont start and the timing belt cover cracked and i noticed a piece of metal that pierced that belt. I tried to crank the motor thinking that maybe it wasn't the belt after I examined it, and the motor just spins freely it cranks loose with no spark. I think i know what happend any comment?

Snapped your timing belt probably. You said you saw pieces of metal in the timing belt. What did they look like?

Sounds like you broke your timing belt.The crank turns but the cams are'nt,thats why no spark.Hope you did'nt bend all your valves.WHAT IT'S POSSIBLE,they might not be bent.

It was gold and very small fork looking.

Ok I checked the timing belt marked it and spun it around until i saw the mark again and the timing belt is good, there were no marks or rips all around, but when i reached into the housing i pulled out a long piece of shredded belt is there another belt that lies in the area?

Your balance belt is in there as well. Your belt doesn't have to be broke to have shredded the teeth off. Just because you rotate it all the way around and it's in one piece doesn't mean it's not trash.

I know, because the same thing happened to me twice. Once with my DSM and once with an old Dodge Dynasty.

Ok belts good got the timing checked and all the teeth are good. Its that balance thing. Any comment? And the car wont start over do you think i took out a sensor?

You're lucky that balance belt didn't take out the timing belt. If you wanna check if your valves are ok, do a compression test. Sorry I can't help with the other part.
