Hey guys I was hoping to get some help from you.

Here is my set up
98 GSX 105K bought it from the local junk yard not running, I take it to my shop and check everything over and i saw it didn't have a MAFS so i got one and still no start, My compression is 160-170 and has no leak down... HAs spark and the firing order is right i tried a different crank sensor thinking maybe it was sending spark and the wrong time but didn't seem to fix it..

I turns over fine and tries to fire every now and again and you can smell fuel so i assume its getting gas..

Please give me some help before i have to take it and get it put on a scan tool

Thanks Toby

p.s. if this is in the wrong section i appologize.

easiest way to tell if it is timing is to turn the crank to TDC and check the timing marks on the oil pump pulley, the balance shaft and the cams. When checking the cams make sure the dowel pins are at 12 o clock. hope it helps.

Thanks for the fast response but i have already done that... sorry i should have mentioned it in my original post... i gues my question is why is my spark timing off...

Thanks
Toby

Ok thanks alot, i'm going to try that tonight, hopefuly this takes care of my problem....

I'll let you guys know

Thanks again
Toby

dont assume since you smell fuel your getting fuel! i dont know if this is your problem but this happened to me one day and it sure enough i wasnt getting fuel. take off the hose between the fuel filter and the injector rail and put it in a cup. turn the motor over a couple of times and check to make sure you are really getting fuel. if your not getting fuel check the fuel pump to see if its getting power.

hope that helps! if not you can completly eliminate one thing
