My car wouldnt start, It would kick over for 1 sec and the motor would get turned the opposite direction and some times back fire, I checked all the bace timing and everything checks out. So I got a new ecu and it still didnt have the right timing, It kicked over and backfired. Now I am thinking I am not geting and power to the ecu, because my gauges are pigybacked to the ecu and when I turn the motor over the lighting in them dont turn on and I am pritty sure they did. How do I know for sure that the ecu is getting power? I looked it up and It sounds like there is a wire that is powering it while the car is off and then it will switch to the relay, is this correct? So dose anyone think the relay is bad or would the motor not kick over at all? thanks guys.

BTW I have the 1g CAS just to let you know.

Are your sure you don't have your CAS 180 deg off?

You could turn your ignition on, but don't start it. Then hook up a logger to see if the ecu is operating correctly.

Was your car running before with the 1g CAS or did it start doing this when you installed the CAS?

I wouldn't get power for your gauges off the ecu, use the cig. lighter power. You short something out or hook up a gauge wrong you could fry the ecu.

Also you don't want a large voltage drop going to the ecu power, it will throw voltage dependant variables like Injector Deadtime off.

Also you could get more induced noise to the ecu.

I just put the 1g ISC on but I am sure it is right, Because the timing marks on it were pointed together. I guess I could try putting it in 180 deg. The gauges were like that when I bought the car, but good points I'm going to cange them.

I tryed turning the cas 180 deg, it was a no go. I also tried a different cas and it also didnt want to start. I tried to start it with out the mpi relay and it dose not give the car spark when its unpluged so dose that meen the ecu is getting power? This is getting realy old, I havent been able to drive it all summer. thanks for the help.

I found a relay making a bunch of noise and may be causing my starting problems. Part # MD128752, It was next to the boost cont. sylinoid. What dose this relay do, and would this be a posible starting/timing problem I have? Thanks guys.
