I have fuel, but no spark and a crank position sensor error code that comes on after attempting to start the car. It doesn't come on immediately either it will take up to 5-6 attempts of trying to start car before the code comes up. I have no spark but all my ignition components test just fine. Here is the thing though, my cam gears timing are off from each other almost 180 degrees!
Could this be my issue of no spark because crank and cams are out of phase with each other?
Just to be clear I didn't do the timing, person I bought it from did and claimed they did it right, it's clear they did it wrong.
I've double checked all sensors : modules and coils such as cam, crank, ignition module/power control, spark plug wires and plugs, ignition coils, fuses and relays.
The car will turn over with no problem but there is no spark, I figured out after looking over this car I just bought that the timing belt appears to be brand new with a new water pump, then I realized as stated above that my timing was not even close to being set properly. So can anyone help me out with some knowledge? I can do just about any kind of work on a car, but I honestly have zero knowledge when it comes to setting timing and what being out of timing means or can do exactly. I get that if it did spark and timing was way off the car would basically nuke itself
.
Btw I'm a disabled vet who is now an owner of his second 2g eclipse but my first turbo eclipse
