Hey there again,

I'm still working on issues I've been facing with my 2g Auto TSI. It was running a little rough in warmer weather but since winter hit the car has really **** the bed. My timing at idle is at 15 degrees, 30 at < half throttle, and I don't know beyond that. My car is also running extremely lean, like around 18:1 on my wideband. It also has no power and struggles to get up hills.

First the mod/replaced list:
16G
3" O2 back
1G BOV
Fuel pump rewire
Innovate wideband
Glowshift boost/vac gauge
Replaced IAC
Rebuilt throttle body
Replaced injector seals

It seems like a might still have a vacuum leak somewhere, as at idle I sit at about 12 in/hg (IIRC) and idles extremely rough. However the timing being at 15 degrees at idle throws me off. Grounding off the timing brings it back down to 5. Throttle is at 2.7%, RPM at 1000-1100, MAF reading 7.6 g/s, load at 25.9%

I don't expect any solutions from you guys but maybe just some hints where I need to look. I've been trying to track down this issue for god knows how long, but before winter the car wasn't acting so bad. Now it's undrivable.

Also codes pulled for:
Multiple cylinder misfire
Wastegate

Thanks for any time you take out

Check compression too. Even if you find timing is on, the engine can't build vacuum if there is valve(s) staying open or whatever problems may be there. If you are good there, it's likely Vacuum like Pauleyman said.

Bingo. I guess I managed to set it wrong after the rebuild.
No offense but this is one of the most basic things to douvke check on a dsm. It's very easy to double check once the job is finished. If you need help setting let us know.

Yeah it really should have been something I checked. I just am surprised I managed to set it off in the first place during my engine rebuild. Must not have been paying attention closely.

Or worse, it skipped time because it wasnt tensioned correctly. Both should be checked.
