Timing Belt riding on inside

I've got a T-belt that for some reason likes to ride on the very inside of the cam gears, enough that its causing a slight rubbing. I know they are supposed to ride in the center of their track but this one doesn't want to. I have no clue what it could be from, except that I mixed a bunch of parts from a 90 and a 91 and maybe something there could be slightly off. What do you all think?

A wrong idler pulley or tensioner pulley will do that. Examine them closely. There are very slight differences between model years and turbo/NT. Compare to the old ones that worked correctly.

It is also possible to improperly install the tensioner pulley bracket, which will cause this too.

Worn bearings in the idlers will cause this.

As will a worn tensioner arm pivot.

I took the non tensioner idler from an N/T, you're saying thatll do it?

I really dont want to rip it apart...will it cause extensive damage or will it just wear a little bit off of the edge?

mine road on the inside when i had the tensionar set too loose...

That isn't going to do it unless it's worn out since it's the same part.

Depends, If the belt is walking to the inside, then it will continue to do so and wear down the inside edge until it fails.
