okay so im swapping motors and i need to tighten the timing belt but there is just one thing, i know how i can tighten it but i dont think it is the right way. i am looking at these timing belt procedures on a thing called all-data and it says you need a special tool, or is there a special tool? ^.- oh and i dont know the specifications either so if i can get that too then that would be most helpful.

Dude fix your grammar and punctuation, seriously. To answer your question, yes there are special tools that you will need to do the job correctly. You can find them on ebay or various online stores.

Yes there is a tool, but check vfaq, or many sites about that belt, if your really unsure have a pro do it for you, other wise, you could be buying another head.

Yes dont do it if you dont know what to do. Also the tools are not needed if you change the tensioner, etc like your supposed to. I didnt use any tools for it and I changed mine is a total of 10min or less after the covers were off.

I guess you didnt read the rules for dsmtuners. If you dont watch your grammer here you wont last very long.

The special tool will make life easier. It is possible to change the belts without the tool, as I have done before but its safer to have one. Especially when you are doing something as important as a timing belt.

Here is the link to the vfaq which should help out a lot.

Timing Belt VFAQ

Good luck and if you don't feel comfortable doing it, have a pro do it.

that deal with the 2 holes in it that is not supported in the center - rotate it so one hole is @ 11 and other @ 1 (o'clock) and you're good. I did this with a socket and allen wrench I think - dont waste your $$ on that tool. Pull the pin for the autotensioner and get it back together.

but on another note, thanks for the help peeps.
