time to replace head gasket

Well, if you do it right, you'll probably be resurfacing at least the head. The machine shop may take some time, unless you buy a head already prepped.

The actual wrench time isn't much, it's more the care with which you do it. For your first time, expect to spend at least half a day on it. Probably 6-8 hours.

Just dont rush it make sure you take your time and follow the directions, and replace all timing parts and you should be good to go, vfaq.com is a great start.

You can also buy it seperately as well. Im about to replace my Headgasket and headstuds for my new turbo but from what I know unless your block has lots of knotches and what not in it you might not need to resurface it just use a composite HG from felpro or the mitsubishi oem one.
