Okay this just started...I put my car in reserve to leave and went to hit the gas padel and nothing happen so I pushed it really hard and the padel when it and idle really high to the red line. I notced that the plastic surround the wire itself comes throught the firewall when I press the pedal. Does this mean my throttle cable is bad or is it fixable???? Help please thank you!

Please spell and use proper grammar. Now to your problem.

It sounds like the sleeve to your throttle cable has broken or the retaining clip which holds it to the firewall has broken. It sounds like you need a cable replacement, make sure to order the correct one based on if you have cruise control or not.

good luck

Okay....about the grammer!!!! I was in a hurry big deal are you an English teacher or something??? I didn't know we had those on DSMtuners!!! Well, that's enough of that. I do however have a question about who sells them. Does autozone, advance auto parts, and or O'Reily's auto parts sell it. I really hope this is not a dealer item because I need it ASAP!!!

Have you even tried asking the store by calling if they have the part available? You can't be spoon fed everything you know :coy:

I actually have a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Secondary Emphasis, English and History. In essence, I am an English teacher. :)

And I would like you to use proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Please. :D

2point3tsi's logic sounds pretty good so far. You might be able to get one from a parts store, but some dealers may carry them. Check the Chrysler dealers, or one of our vendors on here. Most will carry the non-cruise throttle cable for the people who want to delete cruise control. Don't know if that will affect you or not, but it's an option.

Wow...seriously like I do NOT know about the grammar rules of the site!!!! I just asked about the throttle cable NOT a lesson on gammar but thinks for ALL non-help guys!!!!

I may NOT asking for a spoon guy!!!! Just help and if that's a spoon so be it!! Thanks a lot for the rudes....ALL the years I have been on this site and I got about bunch of rude butts over a question!!!

They're right, your first post is jibberish, but on to your problem; what car do you have, does it have cruise, and what's your home address. Let us know all that, then we can call the local parts stores in your area to see if anyone has the part you need.

Ps. We need your name too so we can tell them to hold it for you when we find it.

Oh yeah, do you need it put on too?

Settle down. Just call around and ask for a throttle cable. Local parts stores may or may not keep it in stock. If you have Oreilly's in your area, they should be able to order it and get it in within a day or two.

Don't worry about now guys...I found one. The problem I ran into was because of the cruise control no one had that instock but I went to a salvage yard and just got the cable the runs thru the fire wall. Sorry about ALL the confusing and the grammar errors that have seem to be more important then the issue I was having. See I didn't need a spoon. Thank you to those whom was sowhat positive!
