thinking on a 16 g

im thinking of getting a 16 g off of a guy near me nowever he says theres shaft play from side to side but he also said he didnt notice it till he took the turbo off the car. My questions are how much is too much side to side and would it make a difference in amount if it was on the car . I know in and out play is bad and if the blades touch the housing its bad.

2 questions .1 how much play "side to side" we talking about? 2 how much you buying it for? a slight amount of side to side you should be ok. anything other than that prob. looking at a rebuild, which can get a bit pricey unless you can do it your self and balance it. a new evo III 16g cost about $500.

he didnt state how much shaft play i need to go look myself and he's sellin it for 50 cause his friend said it had shaft play

for $50 thats not bad. but if it needs a rebuild your looking at at least a few hundred bucks. i would look around to see how much it would cost you to get rebuilt before you buy it.
