thinking about a pte scm6076 with an automatic

I'm thinking about the pte scm6076 with the t04s housing. What does everyone think about this turbo with an automatic. I understand i would have to buy the supporting mods. (this is for my stock awd automatic 2g). I figured once its spooled itd pull like crazy being a 60 trim and all. What do u guys think? I'd go with like 850cc injectors,dsm chip, punishment racing front mount,and alky injection. I dont know about putting a convertor in it just yet. Maybe after the setups done.

I'm sure a fairly high stall torque converter will be need if you want to be able to launch reasonably decent. Don't get one with a higher stall than necessary either though because that wastes hp because of more slippage.

You will need a converter for this size turbo or some nitrous. You can use the stock converter it just may not pull the best '60 time. Heres an example of an auto with huge turbo, stock converter

what size convertor do u guys think.Could i use the nitrous and the alky injection and run pumpgas? im definatly going with a ball bearing one.i thought the ballbearing would help it out. I dont want to put a huge convertor in it because i do daily drive the car.Any help would be great guys.

i just got off the phone with tie from ipt. He said they're restall will work just fine with this because im going ballbearing . Does anyone have expereince with this restalled convertor?

they said about 4000. But i can footbrake it now to 3500. So when it goes to 4000 i should be able to foot brake higher right?

The new billet comp wheels from PTE are a better option, the billet 58mm will spool awesome and make the power of the old 62mm turbo.

My experience with IPT restalls is that local Joe places can do the same or better for much cheaper. I ditched their 4k restall because it wouldn't go past 2800, pulled it for a local shops restall and theirs went 3300 on the exact same setup for around $350.

well right now i can footbrake it to almost 3500. im pretty sure im still stock too. but it could be on its way out. the car went 14.9 bone stock with a full exhaust and boost at 15pounds but it was bleeding down.

I haven't seen or heard of anyone running this turbo on an auto 2g but i would think a good high stall converter along with a good brake boost would help on those rolling races or take-offs.
I haven't asked though, what are your power goals ?

There are quite a few quicker spooling turbos that will achieve low 400s. Even 16gs have proven it countless times.

well what would you recomend for a auto. i figured i could go with this turbo and run around 20 pounds and be at the low 400's (hopefully) but i would put meth on it if i have to..i also figured since its ball bearing id have just a little more lag then i have now and have crazy top end. My whole idea is to have good street ablitys and be able to fly at the track on test and tunes. at most a 272 cams.maybe even a 264/272 combo and with a eprom chip

The P-trim turbine on the pte turbo is similar in size to an hx40 turbine. In bolt-on fashion the hx40 will net 20psi+ at around 4100rpm with 272s. This is not in 1st gear though as well as 5spd numbers. Some nitrous or a higher stall converter will definitely help the lauches out. I'm not sure if the 4k restall will cut it without nitrous. Pm HighPsiTsiGuy, he is very knowledgable with turbo combos and converters,etc
