Brand new ACT 2600 went in with my built 6-bolt...install was normal as it was with my last 2600. drove fine for a week, acted weird and heard some noises...i had allready set my dyno date to get my AEM EMS tuned so i went in. later in the day when we were ready to make a run, the clutch wouldnt go into gear..i adjusted it and bleed the system...stiill no go. then i heard a loud high pitch sound and we shut it off. took the tranny off right away when i got home on a flatbed and what in the hell do i find?

EVERY SINGLE SPRING FELL OUT!!!! on top of that, the disc came into 3 parts....ya thats right THREE!!! the pressure plate was bend by the fingers, my flywheel is scrapped. the throw out bearing got melted to the input shatf and i cant get the last outer part out because it got welded to the shaft pretty much. i HATE ACT. i installed it perfectly with certified mechanics working with me. everything was torqued to exact specs.

ACT=JUNK. I will NEVER EVER buy from them again. they will be getting a call from me tomorrow and ill let them know whats up. hopefully they are smart otherwise ill file a lawsuit. they are selling faulty products left and right and im sick and tired of it. ACT is going downhill and will continue to do so unless they change. im going to do everything i possibly can to get this to stop. i hope i can fix my fully built tranny and any selas that it ate up.

Im going with the Southbend Clutch 6-puck sprung with a light pressure plate(lighter than the 2600) ...they actually stand behind their business and help you out. customer service is huge to me and if a company as large as ACT wont do anything to satisfy their customers, then they deserve to be brought down. companies need to stand behind their products or just not sell them. im sick of putting junk in my car and thats exactly what ACT is.

I tried to upload pics but im not sure if it will let me. Its bad though. Scared me. at least it didnt wreck my tranny too much or my block for that matter.

I've never liked ACT's since I ran a 2600 street disk over a year ago. Their concepts are "throw a heavy disk in with a pucked clutch, hold big power."

Not everyone wants to throw their knee outta joint trying to disengage it. Buy a Competition or Spec. You'll never look back, and it'll hold more power than your ACT junk.

There's a thread in the hangout about this, stickied at the top I think.

Honestly, it seems like they've just started having quality-control issues. My ACT2600's been through hell and back - I disintegrated a throwout bearing last year, and the clutch should have been dead - but it still works fine, 13 months and 19,000mi later.

But if they dont get those issues sorted out...
