ok the first pic is a pic of the plug for the boost control solenoid.second pic is of the ac cut out switch so I'm assuming you dont have a/c. the third is a pic of the harness that goes to the emissions solenoids that have been removed. and forth is of your knock off greddy type s Bov. none of witch will necessarily hurt your car.

ok thanx alot i just got this car so i was just wondering

What is the list of your mods other then the 16g? like is you EGR valve removed? do you have a manual boost controller? is your a/c removed? stuff like that...

to be completely honest im not sure i know i have no boost controller not sure about the a/c there is a aftermarket boost gauge and air to fuel ratio gauge im going to modify the stock air box until i get a cold air installed

So, just to clarify, because I have this question also. In the picture with the white connector where he doesn't have anything plugged in, if the AC is removed then that clip isn't needed?

that is what im thinking but im not sure

Pictures 1 & 2 are for the BCS (Boost Control Solenoid). If you have a MBC (Manual Boost Controller) then you don't need those wires. Look at your turbo's wastegate actuator and follow that vacuum line. It should go to a MBC. If not then you need to get one.

Picture 3 is the A/C Thermoswitch. See below for what it does and if you need it.

Picture 4 is the plug for the fuel pressure solenoid and purge control solenoid. It looks like these have been removed which is ok. They are not needed as long as the rest of your emissions stuff is removed (charcoal canister, EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve, etc).

Picture 5 is your BOV (Blow Off Valve) which is set up recalculate which is good.

The third pic, with the white part. That to me looks like the coolant temp sensor/switch.. And yes, that will affect the car starting when the engine is cold. All others that have been said seem correct to me.

That is incorrect. The sensor on the upper portion of the thermostat housing is the A/C thermoswitch. It's only job is to turn off the A/C if the car starts to overheat. If your car is not equipped with A/C then that sensor is useless. You can either leave it there or block it off with a 3/8 NPT plug.

The Coolant temperature sensor is on the lower portion of the thermostat housing and has 2 wires going to it. The other, smaller sensor next to it which has a single wire going to it is for the factory temperature gauge.

That is correct. See above.

Also you need to find out if you have A/C or not. Is there a smaller radiator looking thing in front of your radiator? Also are there 2 or 3 accessory belts on the driver's side of your engine (not counting the timing belt)?

Also to see if you have an EGR valve, look on the passenger's side of the intake manifold near the throttle body. Do you see a flat plate held on with 2 bolts or a valve with a vacuum line going to it? It should be blocked off.

Ok, I guess I will ask another question while in here. I pulled my ac, so I DON'T need that sensor at all...and the AC fan is the one on the drivers side correct? Can I just pull that fan out then to give me more room?

You do not the the A/C thermoswitch. You can either leave it there or remove it and replace it with a 3/8" NPT plug. Here is mine with the plug:

Yes the driver's side fan is wired to only come on with the A/C. Without having A/C it will NEVER come on so yes you can remove it. I only ran 1 fan for years after removing my A/C and never had any problems. Another option would be to wire it to the passenger side fan so that they both come on with the coolant thermoswitch.

hey eclipse i have 3 belts not including the timing belt i think my egr is blocked off i dont see any vacume lines also the cruse control box is taken out not sure about the turbo and i cant upload a pic of it for some reason it says something about a qutoa hmmm not sure

If you have three belts then you should have A/C. Does it work?

To find the MBC, first find the wastegate actuator. It is mounted on the turbo inlet (the side by the air filter) and has a long arm that reaches to the other side of the turbo. There is a single nipple in the actuator near where the intake pipe connects to the turbo. Follow the vacuum line that is connected to that nipple. There should be a MBC at the end. If not you need to buy one.

Here is where the EGR goes:

If there is a flat plate then you don't have an EGR. If there is something that looks like this:

then you have one.
