I am replaceing my radiator I thought I would replace the thermostat as well. When I took it out there are the little tiny circular metal discs over the passage way to the turbo and one is back to the fire wall are these little tiny metal discs needed ? They just look to be blocking flow to me any ideas ??

Dammit, someone just posted a picture of this, and of course I can't effing find it now. I don't remember it being answered. If they're just lying there, figure pieces from somewhere (heat sensors?) and yank them. If they're attached, don't mess.

Well there not really attached they just kinda free float in there groove. When I took out the thermostat one was laying at the bottom of the housing the other one was in the groove. I left em in there grooves, they are there for some reason.

There is a crappy home made pic of the discs using paintbrush I attached
