So my vr-4 has a thermostat housing which I am sure is not stock, because it has the radiator cap on it, not the radiator itself. There is a connector closer to the top, that has white plastic on it, with two connectors on it. When I got the car, there were two wires going into it with electrical tape and some connectors, and didnt hold for anything. Is there A way to properly connect them without the piece that is meant to go into it, and what does this temperature switch affect? Does it matter which wire goes into which?

Thanks!

It is the double pin sensor, and not the single pin sensor right? The reason I ask is because if it were the single pin sensor it would only affect the gauge. Do you have a manual? If it is the double pin sensor then the pin on the car side at the top wich is horizontal is pin#1. The vertical pin below that is pin#2. I tried looking on alldata for you but I could not find wire color codes for that sensor.

It is a double pin sensor, but it is not the one that has the horizontal ontop of thevertical one, they are both side by side.

How would I repair it? Does the order of the wires match on this sensor? I need to get this fixed by tomorrow at the latest. Would it be possible to just put the wire on it, push some solder in there and shoot it with the butane torch fast? I know an actual soldering iron would probably melt the plastic. thank you again!

This is what I am working with here, the connections on the left, sensor with the white plastic on the right. Even if someone tells me which one goes where or how to find that out, let me know, thanks!

The one that is missing the wires is the thermoswitch,if you have removed your AC you will not need it. you could just use spade connectors instead of solder.

Temperature Sensor (sensor in t-stat housing) - G/B and Y/G
Coolant Temperature Gauge (single spade terminal) - Y/G
Coolant Temperature Switch (double spade terminal) - B/G and G/Y
