Well my thermal exhaust arrived on friday, so this weekend me and my buddy were getting ready to put it on and we came across a problem. my stock exhaust is 2.5in is this right? also the owner before me welded a 3 inch cat to the 2.5inch piping no reducer just filled the void with weld. so my question would be is there any way to remove the catback without seperating the cat back from the down pipe? also i am guessing its time for a new downpipe and cat?
thanks for your time

Your exhaust is not 2.5'' stock, its more like 2.25".

If your exhaust is 3", you could just bolt/weld/clamp the cat-back exhaust to your 3" cat and wait until you upgrade to an aftermarket downpipe that either eliminates the cat, or will bolt up to your 3'' cat.

The Thermal exhaust is 3" but has a reducer to bolt to the stock cat. If your car has a 3" cat, you will need to have the reduced section cut off and a 3" welded in its place to match the cat.

Ahh, I didn't know that. The only Thermal exhaust I have seen was set-up with a test-pipe, and it didn't have any neckdown.

thanks for the replies i ordered a new cat and down pipe problem solved :dsm:
