Thermal coating?

I've read a little bit about thermal coating, and I was wondering, can I do that myself with some solution from a hardware store?
 
no all the coatings are baked on in a high temp oven. Its a waist of money but does make the parts more rust/chemical resistant. Usually are expesive spend your money else were.
