The Sound off the eclipse on Fast and the furious

yeah im wondering is it a muffler that makes the sound when he shifts gears at the first of the moive in the parking lot doing around 140 every time he shifts it makes a sound and if its the muffler what kind is it? cause i heard this same sound on a POS corissa 4 door they had a custom muffler and was reffing it up. i was but it sounded good but was not the kinda car to put it on.

Fast and the Furious? Worst movie in history. The sound is "supposodly" from the Blow off Valve, not the muffler. Thanks to that movie now you can buy a speaker kit for your car that sounds just like a blow off valve even though your car is a non turbo. How cute huh?

Ya I just put the movie in to listen to that sound and it is definitely the bov. Sounds good. I just realized that the dsm is ugly.. i don't like it one bit. Especially the HUGE wing it has and the stupid side graphics..

You obviously didn't see 2 Fast 2 Furious.. yes it's worse.

They don't pay sound editors for films a ton of money for nothing.. many sound effects in that movie aren't from the car you're looking at..

I think I saw it when I was drunk and don't rember it (thank god). Just couldn't bear to spend the 3 buck to rent it. Glad I didn't and saved my money that is almost a gallon of gas these days.

Saw that one on www.fuelslut.net which I am also a member of, impressive car. But ever since I bought a mustang everbody and there brother want to race me. I'm not dogging honda, there is a guy I go to school with that built his from scratch off a theft recovery intrgra and I give him mad respect for that. But the average honda civic/integra thinks that a header, exhaust and intake, plus a ton of stickers, qualify them as a race car. Why do you think I hang around this site, most DSM"ers are cool guys that know what they are doing and I respect almost all of them. Just civics that think that they can beat everyting regardless of what it is irritate me. If you ask most of them they probally think they can take a top fuel dragster. Thats just my opinion based on what I have seen of them here in the Pittsburgh area. I know my profile says mass but I go to school here.

CheeseFrog lives in Houston, near me. In that video you saw he was making 450 hp, but the damn thing is so light, it hung with a 700 hp Viper. His car is down now while he is rebuilding a bigger motor.

I give CheeseFrog mad respect points I don't hate every civic, for that matter I don't hate any car. If you put the work into it and its a quick car belive me I'll be the first one to walk up, shake you hand, and say thats a hell of a car. Just to make things worse part 3 is supposedly in the making as we speak. The main car is going to be a 350Z. Remember in the 2nd one when that chick is drawing graphics on paper. According to gossip that's how its going to come out. Also its suppose to be in Japan and the U.S. and its about drifting. I seen the article in Import Tuner mag.

as far as the movie goes, there's lots of exagareted stuff in both fast and the furious and 2f2f
you can notice that the movie was made by some1 who kno's less about engines and cars than i do

incase you guys haven't noticed the eclipse in the movie was a Eclipse RS...no back window wiper...420a motor just thought i might say that .02...anyways i really liked the BOV in the movie did some reasearch and they said it was the Apex-i Twin Chamber BOV..well so being the huge ricer that i am i bought it sounds nothing like it but i didn't JUST buy it for the sound the 60 trim builds alot of boost and i need something to keep it in there and the twin chamber does a great job

Now if a car with some rep (Evo, Sti, 911, etc) comes up and there is a good straight with no traffic... I am definetly heavy on the gas on green.

the eclipse sound in the movie was a clip from a turbocharged CRX. It had a b18c block and some t3.t4 turbo kit. I'm not sure if the eclipse was even turbo or not.

Thas is usually what I do espically with gas prices where they are most of these ricers aren't woth the gas to race. Yesterday when I was getting gas a kid pulled up with a civic to the pump next to me, and walked inside. When him and his buddy came out they were lauging and pointing at the slobra, calling it a pushrod pice of junk and the likes (not like I didn't know this was gonna happen when I bought the thing). So I just looked at him and asked if he would like to see what this push rod peice of junk could do at the track. He and his friend shut up, got into ther car and didn't say another word. Didn't have the chutzbah to put his money where his mouth was I guess. Once again why I hate the fast and the furious, is because it breed idiots like that.

i was going to say, i could only keep up with the viper til 120 because that car has no power, its purely that the power that the engine does produce doesnt have to do as much work... cuz the car is so light... BUT
