The Sound off the eclipse on Fast and the furious

yeah im wondering is it a muffler that makes the sound when he shifts gears at the first of the moive in the parking lot doing around 140 every time he shifts it makes a sound and if its the muffler what kind is it? cause i heard this same sound on a POS corissa 4 door they had a custom muffler and was reffing it up. i was but it sounded good but was not the kinda car to put it on.

I can't believe I am even answering this but... Its not a muffler, but an added device.

As far as the movie, I liked the story. But the "hollywood" version of these cars was, well.. not worth destroying a Dodge Charger!!!! And for the record, that charger was an AUTOMATIC that Vin Diesel was manually shifting!!! Sorry, that was left over from the last thread I read were there was a question posted about where his clutch was?!?!

Supposedly the Charger was a beat up, inline-6 jump car from the Dukes of Hazzard. Being as Mopar A and B bodies were uni-body chassis, the car was trashed due to a bent frame thereby making it less disireable. That's what I read back in the day and never cared to research further to dispute a stupid movie. However he was manually shifting...with a ratchet shifter. I used to have one on my elcamino and if I started in first gear I could shift higher. there's more to an auto straightline than just letting it do the work for ya.
