Is this a real evo 3 16g? from reasearch i found this:

49178-01420: Big 16G
49178-01520: Small 16G
49178-01470: EVO III 16G

Mine reads 49178-01(47)0 the 47 is like printed on, while the others are casted on. the 47 is the essiential difference between the other 16gs. Is this real? is yours like this? heres a couple pics.

one of mine are the same way it came on my brotheres car and he gave it to me, it kind of scared me its an evoIII supposedly...
i have the 49178 then its 0 then the 50 is grounded then its 0 again.
where exctly did you get the turbo from?

Yes, it's real. Mitsu used the same compressor housing, so they just cast all the numbers that were the same in all turbos. That way, when they made different ones, they could use the housing interchangably between them. All they do is etch the two numbers in that actually make a difference. This is how mine looks.

It is an evo3, they do not cast the 2 digit ID part of the code as they use the same casting for a few turbos. The 2 significant numbers are engraved or impact stamped into the housing. Yours looks just like mine that I got from SBR and the one my buddy got from FP.

You're fine and everyone who posted that it's real is correct. Common castings used a stamped identifier for the variant of turbo you're being shipped (42, 47 and 52).

Who ported it? Almost every member posting for help with boost creep associated with an EVO 3 starts off with a vendor port job which does not address boost creep in most cases.

Like oldman said, vendors don't port it to address boost creep issues, the link posted will you show you what to port to prevent boost creep .
