Is the turbo inlet on an evo 3 16g, 2.5 or 3 inches?

The only thing that is 2.5" on the evo 16g is on the exhaust housing. Its the turbine outlet where the exhaust gases discharge. Its the same size as the evo o2 housing which is perfect if you plan on running that. The intake and turbo discharge on the compressor housing is the same for all 16g's which is not 2.5"

I just asked a guy at mach V if it was the 2.5" or 3" in reference to buying a boost leak tester and he said it was the 2"? So which one of you guys is right? I know...You say go measure it,but i dont have my car and it wont be done for another week in the shop.I looked at SBR and other sites and found the other sizes and specs of the turbo,except the turbo inlet.So anyone know for sure what the diameter of the inlet is? 2" seems very small from the times i have looked at it.But then again i would think MAchV knows their stuff.Anyone that can set this straight?

Yep.
It's a 2 alright.

I think its anywhere from 2.0 inches to 2.25 inches. Forced performance intake piping used a 4.0 inch to a 2.25 inch reducer to fit on mitusbishi turbos (14b, 16g).

I have to use a 2.25" coupler as 2" doesn't fit.

if you look in the pic above the id is 2inch where as the outside is a little bigger

You want a 2.25" coupler for the OUTER DIAMETER.
