Alright everyone after searching the forums, I've not really found enough information to help me make a definitive decision on my turbo choice for now.. Here are my choices an Evo 3 16g for 375 dollars with around 10k miles on it or an MHI TDO5H 18g freshly rebuilt with OEM parts for 300 dollars. My horsepower goals aren't crazy, for now I'm looking to make in the range of 400hp..my car will be weekly driven with trips to the drag strip a few times a year. Really hoping for some opinions from those who have ran those turbos or have any helpful info..

Thanks ahead of time everyone!

Why do you need another manifold my fp mounts up fine to my 18g i got tial wg with my car a few free goodies, planning on gettiing my pr o2 housing so i can finish up that part of my build.

a bolt on 50 trim will keep you happy for a long time. less money more power. its a win win situation. i grew from a 14b, big 16g, 50trim now going on too a gt35. ill say the 50 kept me happy for a long time on the 2.0. now with the 2.4 i got to go bigger. 400 is more attainable with the 50trim.

18g or td05 20g if your goal is 400 hp. I ran a E3-16g before my current frank 20g, the 20g hits just as hard down low but keeps pulling until redline. You can hit 400 with a 16g,but you better be ready to throw down some serious money to achieve that # on supporting mods. There is a guy here in my area that is hitting 400/400 on a 16g,but it is a built 2.3 stroker with gsc3 cams, english racing tuned etc......just do your homework and see what suits your needs

Why bother running that low of boost on a 16g? You might as well go back to a 14b if that's all you're going to do and let someone actually put it to use.

I plan to push it to 28-32, just not at the moment. I just want to make sure I can find something that can hit at least 18 quickly coming out of a hard apex. During a straightaway, getting up into 7 to 8.5k rpm and ultimately hitting max boost at roughly 30 to 34 psi. The current T25 has the quick spool, but I need something to drive a bit harder, but ultimately spool up within about .75 seconds as fast.

Thus, not sure whether to go with a Big T28, Big 16g, or 18g. I am assuming that a 20g, 50 trim, and FP green are bit too slow spooling.

That's WAY too much boost for a 16G/18G. You'll be dealing with some serious reliability issues with boost that high over an extended period of time. Plan on backing off the boost a little and making your power with better tuning / more aggressive timing.
